Okay, I'm hooked...

on Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenges (!!! Each week, I am filled with anticipation as I await her color choices. This week, they are basic black, real red, green galore, whisper white and so saffron. These are colors that naturally appeal to me, so I was very excited to get started. I chose this adorable little elephant from the A Happy Heart stamp set as the feature of this card. The black paper is crimped (don't know if it shows up well on the photo), and I had to add a few rub-ons, which are my new obsession. What do you think?

Oops! card

Have you ever made a card that happen totally by accident? When I started this project, I intended to make an accordian style flower for the card to use as the make and take for my monthly stampin' group. However, for an accordian flower, you have to make ALOT of score lines. I thought that I might use my paper crimper to achieve a similar effect, but I quickly realized that it wasn't going to work! Not wanting to waste this paper, and not wanting to let go of the flower idea, I decided to make a 3-D card instead and come up with something different for my group. While I'm not in love with this card, and it certainly won't fit into an envelope, I am keeping it as is because I am sure I will find an appropriate time to use it. And, there is something about it I do actually like, though I can't put my finger on just what that is. Maybe the thought will strike me at a later time...

Valentine Bundle Class

As you may know, Stampin' Up has a really great Valentine Bundle promotion going on right now. When it became available for demonstrator preorder in the beginning of December, I immediately fell in love and knew I had to have it! The bundle includes the yummy Candy Lane designer series paper, a three heart punch and an adorable stamp set. All of these items are available seperately in the new Spring/Summer Idea Book and Catalog, but the bundle offers a 20% discount. If you love this bundle as much as I do, hurry to get yours...the sale will only last until Friday, January 31st. Here is the link to my website where you can view this great offer:

I was thrilled when my January Stamper's 10 hostess decided to have a Valentine workshop to showcase this fun bundle. We created one card, one mini card, a scrap page and an altered mailbox. We had so much fun putting these great new materials to use. If you would like to check out the pictures from this event, please visit this link: If you click on the first picture, you will be able to see the pictures in a slide show.

Another Challenge

Hey there! Here is another color challenge courtesy of Kristina Werner: The colors for this week were ruby red, pretty in pink, pumpkin pie and whisper white. They just shouted "Valentine's Day," so I created a card for my husband (early this year!). What do you think?

BTW...the pics of the Valentine class are soon to come.

I'm back...again!!!

Wow! It has been exactly one month since my last post! I did quite a bit of crafting during the holiday season, but, unfortunately, that didn't leave much time for posting. However, with a renewed sense of dedication to blogging, I will be posting cards, projects and such several times a week. Really, this time!

Okay, now on to today's card. This is another one of Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenges (, and I LOVE the color combination of this one. Though this is only the second challenge I have participated it, I quite often use her color palettes an inspiration for cards and projects (and, even when coordinating clothes sometimes!). The colors for this challenge are: old olive, baja breeze, chocolate chip, pumpkin pie and whisper white. I needed a birthday card for a little boy today, so I thought I would use the Bugs & Kisses stamp set in conjunction with the challenge. What do you think?
Check back on Tuesday to see what we created at Friday's Valentine class!
